[17-9-2021] Schmalz at the Blechexpo: Highly dynamic and effortless lifting of sheet metal

The lightweight SXT tooling system with the new SAXB bellows suction cup is Schmalz's expert for highly dynamic sheet handling.

Schmalz has the right handling solution for every sheet metal and is presenting it at the 15th Blechexpo in Stuttgart - in Hall 1 at Stand 1107. This includes new grippers and convenient vacuum lifters.

 

 

At Blechexpo 2021 in Stuttgart, J. Schmalz GmbH will be demonstrating how complex, heavy or particularly large sheet metal parts can be lifted, placed and deposited efficiently and safely. The eye-catcher at the trade show booth is the robot cell on which the SXT tooling system with the new suction pads SAXB runs. The lightweight gripper construction kit is based on compact components and is primarily used in highly dynamic processes with maximum output - for example in the press shop and in car body construction. The demands on the installed suction cups are correspondingly high: The new SAXB holds even oiled sheets securely during rapid movements - thanks to a special friction structure on the surface. With its bell shape and 1.5 bellows, it also adapts optimally to curved structures without deforming the surface of thin sheets. It is made of Elastodur for a long service life and low maintenance costs.

 

In the area of manual handling, Schmalz is showing the vacuum lifter VacuMaster Comfort. It can pick up metal sheets weighing up to 750 kilograms and, with its completely redesigned operating element whose shape is reminiscent of the steering wheel of a Formula 1 racing car, is particularly convenient and intuitive to use. The KLT gripper for R-, RL- and C-KLT is also new. It grips crates securely and facilitates intuitive operation with a patented centering aid.
